This class meets in the Community room of the Tuggeranong Public Library (phone 62059000) on Mondays from 6pm to around 7.15pm except public holidays. It usually has a beginner group and a non-beginner group. The teacher in charge is Karen Schultze and there are assistant teachers.
About the class
- This class aims to give migrants, visitors and people for whom English is a second language an opportunity to practice and learn English skills useful in everyday living, particularly conversation skills.
- The class gives the opportunity to learn and practise pronunciation, grammar, listening, vocabulary, reading and writing as well as learning about Australian culture and lifestyle.
- The development of these skills will allow students to communicate effectively in the community. Classes are held once a week for about 1 hour.
How the class works
- It is a free service for students and the teacher teaches the class on a voluntary basis
- Student attendance is on a casual basis, you may come for as long or as short a time as you like
- The teacher will leave at 6.15pm if there are no students that evening
- Students must tell the teacher if there is a change to their attendance
