Tuggeranong Library English class

This class meets in the Community room of the Tuggeranong Public Library (phone 62059000) on Mondays from 6pm to around 7.15pm except public holidays.  It usually has a beginner group and a non-beginner group.  The teacher in charge is Karen Schultze and there are assistant teachers.

About the class

  • This class aims to give migrants, visitors and people for whom English is a second language an opportunity to practice and learn English skills useful in everyday living, particularly conversation skills.
  • The class gives the opportunity to learn and practise pronunciation, grammar, listening, vocabulary, reading and writing as well as learning about Australian culture and lifestyle.
  • The development of these skills will allow students to communicate effectively in the community.  Classes are held once a week for about 1 hour.

How the class works

  • It is a free service for students and the teacher teaches the class on a voluntary basis
  • Student attendance is on a casual basis, you may come for as long or as short a time as you like
  • The teacher will leave at 6.15pm if there are no students that evening
  • Students must tell the teacher if there is a change to their attendance
